cannot see \opsi_depot
cannot see \opsi_depot
Hi All,
New to this application and this forum so please be patient with me! I downloaded the VM was all going nicely following the manual.
However when I got to the point of install the opsi-agent on one of my windows pc's I notice when I SMB browse to that server I do not see the opsi_depot share referenced in the manual. I see some other shares which are inaccessible or do not contain the script to set up a windows client.
Any ideas where I went wrong?

Re: cannot see \opsi_depot
Hello lcollins,
are any other OPSI shares visible?
You can run the following to set up the shares and then set a password for the pcpatch user:
The manual is quite large. If you want a quick introduction you can try the getting started guide you can find at http://download.uib.de/opsi4.0/doc/html ... arted.html
Kind regards

You can run the following to set up the shares and then set a password for the pcpatch user:
Code: Alles auswählen
opsi-setup --auto-configure-samba
opsi-admin -d task setPcpatchPassword

Re: cannot see \opsi_depot
Hi,
Thanks for responding.
Indeed but I did follow the manual but it never mentioned anything about setting up these shares, it referenced accessing them from a windows client seemingly as if it was preconfigured.
The shares I see at the moment are:
opsi_config
access denied
opsi_workbench
access denied
opt_pcbin
Accessible
contains folder called install but surprise surprise access denied to that.
The user is adminuser which is in the opsi admin security group.

Re: cannot see \opsi_depot
Hello lcollins,
you should be fine when you can access the share opt_pcbin because this is the depot share - http://download.uib.de/opsi_stable/doc/ ... ver-shares
Inside that share you should find another folder install containing an folder opsi-client-agent. This is where the setup information is stored.
If it is not possible for you to access one of the folders please try running the following command before trying to access that folder again:
Kind regards

Re: cannot see \opsi_depot
Ok I can now see the opsi_depot share but I cannot access it nor the install folder inside PC bin.
This is when I authenticate as "adminuser" created as per the manual or trying to use root. Neither seem to be able to access the above shares, seems permission related.
Sorry I am a windows idiot trying to get this working

Re: cannot see \opsi_depot
did you try to connect with the pcpatch user as n.wenselowski suggested?
Re: cannot see \opsi_depot
When I log in as pcpatch user I can access all the share points including the install folder inside pc_bin alas it is empty and does not contain the required client scripts?
Re: cannot see \opsi_depot

Re: cannot see \opsi_depot
I think I am going to get flamed here
That command gives me a blank table with product ID Version and Name columns.
Assuming this should be populated by something I should have done at an earlier stage?
